Mechanical Designer
AUTOCAD DESIGNER/DRAFTER, MECHANICAL
We are seeking a full time mechanical designer with experience in industrial power design for boiler systems including pressure parts and air & flue gas ducting. This position is responsible for the production of arrangement and fabrication drawings for boiler system equipment, including but not limited to combustion air, flue gas, piping, process flow diagrams and boiler pressure part components.
Responsibilities include:
• Drafting original drawings with an AutoCAD 2016, and higher, workstation to company drawing formats for mechanical systems. Drawings are primarily 2-D, although some 3-D drawings are developed.
• Maintaining an organized set of up-to-date drawings for on-going projects:
• Preparation of process schematic (process flow diagrams) and conceptual drawings for support of sales efforts.
• Preparation of mechanical systems industrial facility general arrangement drawings.
• Preparation of mechanical detail drawings for fabricated assemblies of ducting and equipment.
• Preparation of ASME Code pressure part fabrication drawings.
• Checking the work of others.
• Some travel required.
Qualified Candidates must have:
• A good working knowledge and experience using AutoCAD drafting workstation.
• 5+ years experience in related work.
• Drafting capabilities in the following design/engineering standards – ASME pressure vessels; ASTM materials; mechanical details for shop fabrication.
• The ability to work accurately and quickly in a schedule-driven environment.
• Team player with good communication skills to work with other designers, project engineers and customers.
• The ability to work productively with minimal supervision, and be self-motivated with project organizational skills.

We are also seeking a full time mechanical engineer with project engineering and project management experience in design of large industrial power boiler systems including boiler pressure parts, air and flue gas ducting and boiler auxiliary systems.
Responsibilities include:
- Project engineer / project manager on fixed price contracts, including coordination of work between engineering, drafting, materials supply, and equipment manufacturing / fabrication shops.
- Performing mechanical systems design, developing specifications, and reviewing vendor drawings for boiler system equipment, including but not limited to:
Preparation of process flow diagrams and conceptual designs for support of sales efforts.
Combustion air and flue gas systems and components.
Fans and related equipment.
Boiler-proper pressure part components.
Preparation of ASME Boiler Code calculations.
- Also responsible for budgets, work scopes, schedules, design and deliverables.
- Some travel is required to visit sites to develop the design and support construction.
Qualified Candidates must have:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years’ experience in related work.
- Experience in the following design / engineering standards – ASME Section I Boiler Code; ASTM materials; mechanical details for shop fabrication.
- The ability to work accurately and quickly in a fast paced environment.
- Team player with good communication skills to work with other project engineers, designers, and customers.
- The ability to work productively with minimal supervision, and be self-motivated with project organizational skills.
- Field experience, professional registration, and an interest in learning and supporting other aspects of boiler design are a plus.
